Hello Visitor
Newsletter - Spring 2026
I hope this finds you all well if somewhat soggy around the edges – what a wet old winter, it certainly hasn’t filled me with enthusiasm to be out and about on the nursery - more a case of batten down the hatches and hope for the best! Still, the days are lengthening and any burst of sunshine makes me hope for drier times to come.
Even if very little has been do-able at the nursery, the spring bulbs are on their way, the compost has arrived and the new bare roots and plugs will be here by the end of February so I’m just about ready for action for what will hopefully be a grand growing season to come (and if anyone dares to mention a hosepipe ban …!).
So, what shall I be up to this year? It has taken a while but I have worked out a plan with The Courtyard Craft Centre in Lytchett Minster, which is just around the corner from the nursery and where I did “pop-up” shops throughout last season. As these pop-ups proved successful with folk asking when I would be there in the future, I have settled on a regular, weekly appearance on a Tuesday. To avoid any troublesome weather (the plants may enjoy getting wet but I don’t!) I will be based in and around the Unit known as The Craft Room (click for details). This also means I can provide a wider range of stock including some sundries and indoor plants - so let me know if there's anything you'd like me to stock.
This begins on Tuesday 17th February (10am-4pm) all the way through to the end of October, if you can fit a visit in then it’d be wonderful to see you – there’s a lovely café there too and a nice range of really good quality, craft based shops. When outside events and weather allow I shall continue with the outdoor pop-ups over weekends so those that can’t make a Tuesday won’t miss out.
I shall also be out and about at as many events and plant fairs as I can fit in, all the usual ones are booked and the website Shows page will have these listed in the very near future so keep an eye out. The first few are already there and listed below:
-Digby Hall in Sherborne on Saturday 21st March (indoors)
-Burrow Farm Gardens near Axminster on Sunday 5th April (Easter Day)
-Forde Abbey near Chard on Saturday 11th April
That’s enough to be going on with so I shall just wish you all some sunshine and warmth to get those green fingers itching to get started.
I am very much looking forward to being out and about once again, meeting friends new and old at the events and the Courtyard Centre, so do make sure you come and say hello.
As the webshop has now been closed down do please feel free to call or drop us a line anytime and we'll see what we can do.
Happy Gardening
Helen
